Need help recovering an old Instagram account with a Gmail email address

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can assist me with a predicament I'm facing regarding an old Instagram account. Back in 2015, I created this account with a Gmail email address. After several years of inactivity, I recently decided to regain access to it.

When I attempted to reset the account's password in the app, upon doing so, nothing seems to happen. It's like pressing a button and experiencing no response whatsoever. No prompts for a verification code or any indication of progress—everything remains unchanged.

It appears that the email associated with the account has been removed due to its prolonged inactivity. Strangely, I'm able to create a new account using the same email address, which implies that the previous one has somehow become detached.

There is no phone number linked to the account.

Regrettably, I need to delete this old account as it contains an embarrassing picture of me. It's worth mentioning that the account has no followers and no posts. I find it puzzling that an inactive account from 2015 still persists, but that's the situation I find myself in.

I've exhausted all the options provided by Instagram's help center, as none of the methods have been fruitful. Therefore, I'm reaching out to this wonderful community for guidance and assistance. If anyone has any insights, suggestions, or solutions to recover or delete this account, I would be immensely grateful.
