Multi-platform giveaway

is it a bad idea to ask your followers to follow / like your other social accounts (or Twitter, Facebook) using a giveaway?

For instance if I do a giveaway on Instagram , would it be unwise for a rule to be to “follow us on Twitter”?

We don’t get a lot of engagement on our Twitter/Facebook so the goal is to have more people follow us there.

Or would it be better to run a giveaway separately on each platform if we have enough resources to give away?
