Can some specific emotions in the subject lines really improve open rates?

Hello Folks, I am a Marketer at a D2C food startup Anveshan. My team has been trying email marketing for a few months but the results aren't that exciting. We tried using the best practices of subject lines across the internet but they didn't seem to work for us.

I recently came across an article that talks about how adding some specific emotions in a subject line lead to interesting uplifts in the open rates. It talked about experimenting with various emotions like Exclusivity, Gratification, Assurance (especially after the pandemic) to give astonishing open rates!

Is it even important that some emotions or phrases in the subject lines really improve the open rates? if so, have you tested it and how?

Would love to know your strategy to experiment with various emotions for the subject lines or other marketing copies like notifications! Are there any interesting tools to help my team come out of the blues of the open rates?
